Advanced Practitioner – Alternative Provision

Qualifications & Education Requirements

✔️ Teaching Qualification: QTS/QTLS
✔️ Degree or Equivalent in a relevant subject
✔️ Maths & English: Minimum Level 2
✔️ Professional Development Experience: Ability to deliver CPD or coach/train colleagues
✔️ Leadership Experience: Experience leading a subject (or two) – desirable
✔️ Specialist Teaching Qualification in a chosen subject – desirable

Preferred Skills & Experience

Teaching & Learning

✅ A proven track record of delivering creative, engaging lessons that inspire students
✅ Experience teaching across KS3/KS4 or in an Alternative Provision setting
✅ Ability to develop curriculum and activities tailored to students with SEN or those who have had disrupted education

Leadership & Training

✅ Experience in coaching and training colleagues to improve professional practice
✅ Ability to swiftly identify and resolve issues, ensuring all matters are followed up
✅ Experience of delivering CPD to colleagues

Behaviour & Student Support

✅ Experience working with students of a challenging nature
✅ Strong behaviour management strategies and ability to create a positive learning environment
✅ Confidence in safeguarding, child protection, and inclusion practices for vulnerable students

Collaboration & Communication

✅ Ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and the wider community
✅ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage diverse audiences
✅ Experience of virtual learning environments and digital tools

Additional Desirable Experience

✅ Ofsted inspection experience (Non-Association Independent Schools framework)
✅ Working in partnership with external agencies and parents to support student development
